Sacred & Salty
Real Talk on Healing, Spirituality, and Finding Your Way
Mi gente!
Welcome to the very first edition of Sacred & Salty! If you’re wondering what that name’s all about, let me break it down: this space is all about balancing the sacred with the real, the raw, and (let’s be honest) the occasionally salty. Because healing? It’s not always pretty. Spirituality? Doesn’t have to be perfect. And life? Well, it’s a little messy, but that’s where the magic happens.
Who Am I?
I’m your Bronx-born, queer spiritual geek with a love for deep conversations. I grew up in a Pentecostal household—think long church services, a whole lotta “Amens,” and my abuela on guitar leading worship. But as life went on, I started asking questions, wrestling with my faith, and realizing that I deserved a spirituality that saw all of me—my queerness, my doubts, my joy, and my humanity.
These days, I’m an ordained minister, a spiritual director, and the founder of Wounds to Wisdom. I work with folks, especially BIPOC and LGBTQ+ fam, to heal from religious trauma, deconstruct harmful beliefs, and build something sacred and true.
What’s Sacred & Salty All About?
Here’s the deal: healing isn’t some cute little checklist. It’s a process—one with highs, lows, and those “what the f*#k is even happening?!” moments. Sacred & Salty is here to hold all of that: the sacredness of transformation and the saltiness of keeping it real when things get tough.
I’m literally creating as I go, but I hope each edition will bring a little bit of everything:
Spirituality that’s grounded, not preachy.
Healing insights for those working through religious trauma or rebuilding after faith shifts.
Queer joy—because love and liberation are holy.
And plenty of stories, resources, and tips to help you navigate your own journey.
You’ll also get my personal faves:
Books to stir your soul.
Music to vibe to, cry to, or scream-sing in your car.
Practices that bring peace or clarity (or both).
And maybe some random tidbits, because life is too short not to share the good stuff.
Why You Should Subscribe
Let’s keep it real: this is a work in progress, just like me. I’m figuring it out as I go, and I’d love for you to be part of the ride. If you’re into spirituality that’s raw and relatable, healing that doesn’t sugarcoat the hard stuff, and a little bit of sass to keep things spicy, this is your space.
Hit that subscribe button if this sounds like your jam. Share it with your people. And let’s keep this conversation going—because healing doesn’t happen in isolation, and you don’t have to figure it all out alone.
Stay salty, stay sacred, and stay you.
Con amor,
rev. rob
